What we collect, and what we don't
Last updated October 8, 2026
The short version
- This site sets no cookies and has no advertising or cross-site tracking.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't build profiles of visitors.
- We don't sell or rent information about anyone.
- Everything we publish about agenda items comes from public records, and we leave out personal contact details.
Visiting this site
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages are read and how people find them. It works without cookies or local storage, and doesn't track you across other sites. It records aggregate information such as the page visited, the referring site, your country, and the type of browser and device. It doesn't record the query string of a web address.
Our fonts and pages are served from our own site. Apart from that analytics script, your browser doesn't contact any other company when you read LandUseWire. Our hosting provider may keep standard request logs (including IP addresses) for security; we don't use them to identify visitors.
Links in our emails
Some links we send by email, such as landusewire.com/for/<agency>,
are specific to the recipient, so we can tell whether a message was useful. They record only the page
visit, through the same cookieless analytics.
When you write to us
If you email hello@landusewire.com, we keep your message and address to reply and to follow up on what you asked, such as a correction or early access. We don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Public records and the people in them
Our items summarize published agendas, staff reports and minutes. Those records can name applicants, property owners, consultants and officials. We include names only as they appear in the record and where they matter to the item, and we never publish email addresses or phone numbers from agenda documents. If you believe something about you is wrong or shouldn't be shown, write to us and we'll review it promptly.
Accounts and subscriptions (coming)
Subscriber accounts aren't open yet. When they are, we'll use Clerk for sign-in and Stripe for payments; we never see or store card numbers. We'll keep the information needed to run your account: your email, what you follow, and your delivery preferences. We'll update this page before accounts open, and you'll be able to see, export or delete your account information.
Who processes data for us
- Amazon Web Services: hosting and storage.
- Cloudflare: cookieless visit counts.
- Neon: our database.
- Anthropic: AI models that help draft summaries of public documents. They receive the public documents, never visitor data.
- Zoho: our email.
