How LandUseWire is made, and what it isn't
Last updated October 8, 2026
The official record comes first
LandUseWire summarizes public meeting records. The agency's own agenda, staff report and minutes are the official record, and they control wherever our summary differs. Every item links to those documents, and we encourage you to read them before relying on anything here.
Information, not advice
Nothing on LandUseWire is legal, financial, investment, real estate or planning advice. We report what's proposed and what was decided; we don't say what anyone should do about it. For decisions about a property or a project, talk to the agency's planning staff and your own professional advisors.
How items are made
- Collection. Our crawler reads agendas, minutes and staff reports that agencies publish, following each site's rules. How our crawler works.
- Drafting with AI. AI models draft each item's summary and structured facts from those documents, citing the page each fact came from.
- Checks. Automated checks compare every summary against its sources, and an editor reviews each item before it's published.
Even so, mistakes happen: a document can be misread, an agenda can change after we read it, or a meeting can be continued or cancelled. Dates, outcomes and details can change without notice.
Coverage has limits
We cover the agencies and bodies listed on our coverage page, at the level shown there. Some agencies' documents aren't open to automated tools yet, and some items may be missed or arrive late. An item missing from LandUseWire doesn't mean nothing happened.
Independent
LandUseWire isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any government agency or software vendor. Agency and vendor names are used only to identify the source of public records.
Corrections
If something is wrong, out of date or missing, write to hello@landusewire.com with a link to the item. We correct errors as quickly as we can and keep a record of every change.
